'Bout a month away from the season premiere, so it was only a matter of time until the hype machine got to grinding. Everyone in the cast is doing interviews, and they're all talking about the motherfucking hatch. And while the prospect of two more cliffhangers and a dozen horn-overload-and-blackout-to-commercial stings is mildly frustrating, it's nice to know that one of the island's biggest secrets will be laid bare for us in the next three episodes. Out of everybody chattin' so far, the Big Guy has me most excited...

"They go right in with the creepy Twilight Zone-ness and everything. It's all about goin' down that hole... It's on the level of, like, Locke in a wheelchair... The great thing about it is you learn a little bit about what's in the hatch, and as you go through the first few episodes, more comes together, and you realize that it's a much more significant thing than it was at the start of the show."

Word to J.J. Abrams - get in touch with The Wire about borrowing "Way Down In The Hole" for this season's theme song.

The Wire Season 1 was as good as television gets, and I love and respect Tom Waits, but I hate that damn song.
